Nord Extreme Himalaya is a 100% Nepali-operated company. Our roots are in the villages of Solukhumbu and the high valleys that shape every journey we design.
We believe the mountains deserve more than a checklist. They deserve respect, time, and people who understand both the terrain and the culture that lives on it. That is why every itinerary is built by guides who grew up here — not by distant operators copying routes from a brochure.
Acclimatization is built into every schedule. Emergency protocols, satellite communication, and experienced high-altitude staff are non-negotiable. We have walked these trails long enough to know when to turn back.
We keep groups intimate so the experience stays personal. You are not one of fifty. You are part of a small team that moves at a human pace and shares the same fire at the end of the day.
We stay in local lodges, eat local food, and work with communities along the trail. The journey is as much about the people of the Himalayas as it is about the peaks.

Born in Khari Khola in the Solukhumbu, Sonam grew up in the shadow of Everest. Educated at the Edmund Hillary School, he has spent a lifetime guiding and operating in the high Himalayas — across Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and beyond. His vision for Nord Extreme is simple: authentic journeys led by people who belong to these mountains.
